And fear the One Who created you and ˹all˺ earlier peoples.”

ﱇThey saidﱈOnlyﱉyouﱊ(are) ofﱋthose bewitchedﱌ
They replied, “You are simply bewitched!

ﱍAnd notﱎyouﱏ(are) exceptﱐa manﱑlike usﱒand indeedﱓwe think youﱔsurely (are) ofﱕthe liarsﱖ
Also, you are only a human being like us, and we think you are indeed a liar.

ﱗThen cause to fallﱘupon usﱙfragmentsﱚofﱛthe skyﱜifﱝyou areﱞofﱟthe truthfulﱠ
So cause ˹deadly˺ pieces of the sky to fall upon us, if what you say is true.”

ﱡHe saidﱢMy Lordﱣknows bestﱤof whatﱥyou doﱦ
Shu’aib responded, “My Lord knows best whatever you do.”

ﱧBut they denied himﱨso seized themﱩ(the) punishmentﱪ(of the) dayﱫﱬ(of) the shadowﱭIndeed, itﱮwasﱯ(the) punishmentﱰ(of) a DayﱱGreatﱲ
So they rejected him, and ˹so˺ were overtaken by the torment of the day of the ˹deadly˺ cloud. That was really a torment of a tremendous day.

ﱳIndeedﱴinﱵthatﱶﱷsurely, is a signﱸbut notﱹareﱺmost of themﱻbelieversﱼ
Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.

ﱽAnd indeedﱾyour Lordﱿsurely, Heﲀ(is) the All-Mightyﲁthe Most Mercifulﲂ
And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.

ﲃAnd indeed, itﲄsurely, is a Revelationﲅ(of the) Lordﲆ(of) the worldsﲇ
This is certainly a revelation from the Lord of all worlds,

ﲍUponﲎyour heartﲏthat you may beﲐofﲑthe warnersﲒ
into your heart ˹O Prophet˺—so that you may be one of the warners—

ﲗAnd indeed, itﲘsurely, (is) inﲙ(the) Scripturesﲚ(of) the former (people)ﲛ
And it has indeed been ˹foretold˺ in the Scriptures of those before.
- Reflections
ﲜIs it notﲝIs it notﲞto themﲟa signﲠthatﲡknow itﲢ(the) scholarsﲣ(of the) Childrenﲤ(of) Israelﲥ
Was it not sufficient proof for the deniers that it has been recognized by the knowledgeable among the Children of Israel?

ﲦAnd ifﲧWe (had) revealed itﲨtoﲩanyﲪ(of) the non-Arabsﲫ
Had We revealed it to a non-Arab,

ﲬAnd he (had) recited itﲭto themﲮnotﲯthey wouldﲰin itﲱ(be) believersﲲ
who would then recite it to the deniers ˹in fluent Arabic˺, still they would not have believed in it!

ﲳThusﲴWe have inserted itﲵintoﲶ(the) heartsﲷ(of) the criminalsﲸ
This is how We allow denial ˹to steep˺ into the hearts of the wicked.
- Reflections
ﲹNotﲺthey will believeﲻin itﲼuntilﲽthey seeﲾthe punishmentﲿ[the] painfulﳀ
They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment,

ﳁAnd it will come to themﳂsuddenlyﳃwhile theyﳄ(do) notﳅperceiveﳆ

ﳇThen they will sayﳈAreﳉweﳊ(to be) reprievedﳋ
Then they will cry, “Can we be allowed more time?”

ﳌSo is it for Our punishmentﳍthey wish to hastenﳎ
Do they ˹really˺ seek to hasten Our torment?

ﳏThen have you seenﳐifﳑWe let them enjoyﳒ(for) yearsﳓ
Imagine ˹O Prophet˺ if We allowed them enjoyment for years,
