ﱁNotﱂ(is) thisﱃbutﱄ(the) customﱅ(of) the former (people)ﱆ
This is simply the tradition of our predecessors.

ﱇAnd notﱈweﱉ(are) the ones to be punishedﱊ
And we will never be punished.”

ﱋSo they denied himﱌﱍthen We destroyed themﱎIndeedﱏinﱐthatﱑﱒsurely, is a signﱓbut notﱔareﱕmost of themﱖbelieversﱗ
So they rejected him, and ˹so˺ We destroyed them. Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.

ﱘAnd indeedﱙyour Lordﱚsurely, Heﱛ(is) the All-Mightyﱜthe Most Mercifulﱝ
And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.

ﱞDeniedﱟThamudﱠthe Messengersﱡ
The people of Thamûd rejected the messengers
- Reflections
ﱢWhenﱣsaidﱤto themﱥtheir brotherﱦSalihﱧWill notﱨyou fear (Allah)ﱩ
when their brother Ṣâliḥ said to them, “Will you not fear ˹Allah˺?

ﱪIndeed, I amﱫto youﱬa Messengerﱭtrustworthyﱮ
I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.

ﱯSo fearﱰAllahﱱand obey meﱲ
So fear Allah, and obey me.

ﱳAnd notﱴI ask youﱵfor itﱶanyﱷﱸpaymentﱹNotﱺ(is) my paymentﱻexceptﱼfromﱽ(the) Lordﱾ(of) the worldsﱿ
I do not ask you for any reward for this ˹message˺. My reward is only from the Lord of all worlds.

ﲀWill you be leftﲁinﲂwhatﲃ(is) hereﲄsecureﲅ
Do you think you will be ˹forever˺ left secure in what you have here:

ﲆInﲇgardensﲈand springsﲉ
amid gardens and springs,
- Reflections
ﲊAnd cornfieldsﲋand date-palmsﲌits spadixﲍsoftﲎ
and ˹various˺ crops, and palm trees ˹loaded˺ with tender fruit;

ﲏAnd you carveﲐofﲑthe mountainsﲒhousesﲓskillfullyﲔ
to carve homes in the mountains with great skill?

ﲕSo fearﲖAllahﲗand obey meﲘ
So fear Allah, and obey me.
- Reflections
ﲙAnd (do) notﲚobeyﲛ(the) commandﲜ(of) the transgressorsﲝ
And do not follow the command of the transgressors,

ﲞThose whoﲟspread corruptionﲠinﲡthe earthﲢand (do) notﲣreformﲤ
who spread corruption throughout the land, never setting things right.”

ﲥThey saidﲦOnlyﲧyouﲨ(are) ofﲩthose bewitchedﲪ
They replied, “You are simply bewitched!

ﲫNotﲬyouﲭ(are) exceptﲮa manﲯlike usﲰso bringﲱa signﲲifﲳyouﲴ(are) ofﲵthe truthfulﲶ
You are only a human being like us, so bring forth a sign if what you say is true.”

ﲷHe saidﲸThisﲹ(is) a she-camelﲺFor herﲻ(is a share of) drinkﲼand for youﲽ(is a share of) drinkﲾ(on) a dayﲿknownﳀ
Ṣâliḥ said, “Here is a camel. She will have her turn to drink as you have yours, each on an appointed day.

ﳁAnd (do) notﳂtouch herﳃwith harmﳄlest seize youﳅ(the) punishmentﳆ(of) a DayﳇGreatﳈ
And do not ever touch her with harm, or you will be overtaken by the torment of a tremendous day.”

ﳉBut they hamstrung herﳊthen they becameﳋregretfulﳌ
But they killed her, becoming regretful.

ﳍSo seized themﳎﳏthe punishmentﳐIndeedﳑinﳒthatﳓﳔsurely is a signﳕbut notﳖareﳗmost of themﳘbelieversﳙ
So the punishment overtook them. Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.

ﳚAnd indeedﳛyour Lordﳜsurely Heﳝ(is) the All-Mightyﳞthe Most Mercifulﳟ
