Moses replied, “I did it then, lacking guidance.

ﱈSo I fledﱉfrom youﱊwhenﱋI feared youﱌBut grantedﱍto meﱎmy Lordﱏjudgmentﱐand made meﱑofﱒthe Messengersﱓ
So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers.

ﱔAnd thisﱕ(is the) favorﱖwith which you reproachﱗ[on] meﱘthatﱙyou have enslavedﱚ(the) Children of Israelﱛ(the) Children of Israelﱜ
How can that be a ‘favour,’ of which you remind me, when ˹it was only because˺ you ˹have˺ enslaved the Children of Israel?”

ﱝFiraun saidﱞFiraun saidﱟAnd whatﱠ(is the) Lordﱡ(of) the worldsﱢ
Pharaoh asked, “And what is ‘the Lord of all worlds’?”

ﱣHe saidﱤLordﱥ(of) the heavensﱦand the earthﱧand whateverﱨﱩ(is) between themﱪifﱫyou (should) beﱬconvincedﱭ
Moses replied, “˹He is˺ the Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything in between, if only you had sure faith.”

ﱮHe saidﱯto thoseﱰaround himﱱDo notﱲyou hearﱳ
Pharaoh said to those around him, “Did you hear ˹what he said˺?”

ﱴHe saidﱵYour Lordﱶand (the) Lordﱷ(of) your forefathersﱸ(of) your forefathersﱹ
Moses added, “˹He is˺ your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.”

ﱺHe saidﱻIndeedﱼyour Messengerﱽwhoﱾhas been sentﱿto youﲀ(is) surely madﲁ
Pharaoh said ˹mockingly˺, “Your messenger, who has been sent to you, must be insane.”

ﲂHe saidﲃLordﲄ(of) the eastﲅand the westﲆand whateverﲇﲈ(is) between themﲉifﲊyou wereﲋ(to) reasonﲌ
Moses responded: “˹He is˺ the Lord of the east and west, and everything in between, if only you had any sense.”

ﲍHe saidﲎIfﲏyou takeﲐa godﲑother than meﲒI will surely make youﲓamongﲔthose imprisonedﲕ
Pharaoh threatened, “If you take any other god besides me, I will certainly have you imprisoned.”

ﲖHe saidﲗEven ifﲘI bring youﲙsomethingﲚmanifestﲛ
Moses responded, “Even if I bring you a clear proof?”

ﲜHe saidﲝThen bringﲞitﲟifﲠyou areﲡofﲢthe truthfulﲣ
Pharaoh demanded, “Bring it then, if what you say is true.”

ﲤSo he threwﲥhis staffﲦand beholdﲧItﲨ(was) a serpentﲩmanifestﲪ
So he threw down his staff and—behold!—it became a real snake.

ﲫAnd he drew outﲬhis handﲭand beholdﲮItﲯ(was) whiteﲰfor the observersﲱ
Then he drew his hand ˹out of his collar˺ and it was ˹shining˺ white for all to see.

ﲲHe saidﲳto the chiefsﲴaround himﲵIndeedﲶthisﲷ(is) surely a magicianﲸlearnedﲹ
Pharaoh said to the chiefs around him, “He is indeed a skilled magician,

ﲺHe wantsﲻtoﲼdrive you outﲽfromﲾyour landﲿby his magicﳀso whatﳁ(do) you adviseﳂ
who seeks to drive you from your land by his magic. So what do you propose?”

ﳃThey saidﳄPostpone himﳅand his brotherﳆand sendﳇinﳈthe citiesﳉgatherers ﳊ
They replied, “Let him and his brother wait and dispatch mobilizers to all cities

ﳋThey (will) bring to youﳌeveryﳍmagicianﳎlearnedﳏ
to bring you every skilled magician.”

ﳐSo were assembledﳑthe magiciansﳒfor (the) appointmentﳓ(on) a dayﳔwell-knownﳕ
So the magicians were assembled at the set time on the appointed day.

And the people were asked, “Will you join the gathering,
