ﱁFor a DayﱂGreatﱃ
for a tremendous Day—
- Reflections
ﱄ(The) Dayﱅwill standﱆmankindﱇbefore (the) Lordﱈ(of) the worldsﱉ
the Day ˹all˺ people will stand before the Lord of all worlds?
- Reflections
ﱊNayﱋIndeedﱌ(the) recordﱍ(of) the wickedﱎ(is) surely inﱏSijjinﱐ
But no! The wicked are certainly bound for Sijjîn ˹in the depths of Hell˺—
- Reflections
ﱑAnd whatﱒcan make you knowﱓwhatﱔ(is) Sijjinﱕ
and what will make you realize what Sijjîn is?—
- Reflections
ﱖA bookﱗwrittenﱘ
a fate ˹already˺ sealed.
- Reflections
ﱙWoeﱚthat Dayﱛto the deniersﱜ
Woe on that Day to the deniers—
- Reflections
ﱝThose whoﱞdenyﱟ(the) Dayﱠ(of) the Judgmentﱡ
those who deny Judgment Day!
- Reflections
ﱢAnd notﱣcan denyﱤ[of] itﱥexceptﱦeveryﱧtransgressorﱨsinfulﱩ
None would deny it except every evildoing transgressor.
- Reflections
ﱪWhenﱫare recitedﱬto himﱭOur Versesﱮhe saysﱯStoriesﱰ(of) the former (people)ﱱ
Whenever Our revelations are recited to them, they say, “Ancient fables!”
- Reflections
ﱲﱳNayﱴﱵButﱶ(the) stain has coveredﱷ[over]ﱸtheir heartsﱹ(for) whatﱺthey used toﱻearnﱼ
But no! In fact, their hearts have been stained by all ˹the evil˺ they used to commit!
- Reflections
ﱽNayﱾIndeed, theyﱿfromﲀtheir Lordﲁthat Dayﲂsurely will be partitionedﲃ
Undoubtedly, they will be sealed off from their Lord on that Day.
- Reflections
ﲄThenﲅindeed, theyﲆ(surely) will burnﲇ(in) the Hellfireﲈ
Moreover, they will surely burn in Hell,
- Reflections
ﲉThenﲊit will be saidﲋThisﲌ(is) whatﲍyou used toﲎ[of it]ﲏdenyﲐ
and then be told, “This is what you used to deny.”
- Reflections
ﲑNayﲒIndeedﲓ(the) recordﲔ(of) the righteousﲕ(will be) surely inﲖIlliyinﲗ
But no! The virtuous are certainly bound for ’Illiyûn ˹in elevated Gardens˺—
- Reflections
ﲘAnd whatﲙcan make you knowﲚwhatﲛ(is) Illiyunﲜ
and what will make you realize what ’Illiyûn is?—
- Reflections
ﲝA bookﲞwrittenﲟ
a fate ˹already˺ sealed,
- Reflections
ﲠWitness itﲡthose brought nearﲢ
witnessed by those nearest ˹to Allah˺.
- Reflections
ﲣIndeedﲤthe righteousﲥ(will be) surely inﲦblissﲧ
Surely the virtuous will be in bliss,
- Reflections
ﲨOnﲩthronesﲪobservingﲫ
˹seated˺ on ˹canopied˺ couches, gazing around.
- Reflections
ﲬYou will recognizeﲭinﲮtheir facesﲯ(the) radianceﲰ(of) blissﲱ
You will recognize on their faces the glow of delight.
- Reflections
ﲲThey will be given to drinkﲳofﲴa pure wineﲵsealedﲶ
They will be given a drink of sealed, pure wine,
- Reflections
ﲷIts sealﲸﲹ(will be of) muskﲺAnd forﲻthatﲼlet aspireﲽthe aspirersﲾ
whose last sip will smell like musk. So let whoever aspires to this strive ˹diligently˺.
- Reflections
ﲿAnd its mixtureﳀ(is) ofﳁTasneemﳂ
And this drink’s flavour will come from Tasnîm—
- Reflections
ﳃA springﳄwill drinkﳅfrom itﳆthose brought nearﳇ
a spring from which those nearest ˹to Allah˺ will drink.
- Reflections
ﳈIndeedﳉthose whoﳊcommitted crimesﳋused toﳌatﳍthose whoﳎbelievedﳏlaughﳐ
Indeed, the wicked used to laugh at the believers,
- Reflections
ﳑAnd whenﳒthey passedﳓby themﳔthey winked at one anotherﳕ
wink to one another whenever they passed by,
- Reflections
ﳖAnd whenﳗthey returnedﳘtoﳙtheir peopleﳚthey would returnﳛjestingﳜ
and muse ˹over these exploits˺ upon returning to their own people.
- Reflections
ﳝAnd whenﳞthey saw themﳟthey saidﳠIndeedﳡtheseﳢsurely have gone astrayﳣ
And when they saw the faithful, they would say, “These ˹people˺ are truly astray,”
- Reflections
ﳤBut notﳥthey had been sentﳦover themﳧ(as) guardiansﳨ
even though they were not sent as keepers over the believers.
